Rare Trolley Scenes Part of Local History Presented by Wick


alt     The Back Mountain Historical Association will revisit rare trolley scenes from a bygone era with a special presentation on April 26 at 7 p.m. by author and historian Harrison Wick.  The presentation will take place at the Lemmond Theater in Walsh Hall, Misericordia University. The lecture is free and open to the public.
     Wick, the special collections librarian and university archivist at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, is the author of Pennsylvania’s Back Mountain and Greater Wyoming Valley Trolleys. He will talk about trolleys and street cars in the Wyoming Valley and Back Mountain. The presentation will highlight many rare trolley photographs from the 1880s to 1950. Wick’s two books were published in 2009 and commemorate Luzerne County’s rich history.
Harrison Wick     Pennsylvania’s Back Mountain and Greater Wyoming Valley Trolleys books will be available for purchase before and after the presentation, when the author will also hold a book signing.
