Everyday Gourmet - A Tasteful Addition

   The Back Mountain welcomes the addition of Angela’s Everyday Gourmet – every wife and mother’s newly-found best kept secret (and some husbands, too).
   Don’t have time to cook tonight? Enjoy a balanced, nutritious, home-cooked meal that is cooked and ready to warm and serve. At Angela’s Everyday Gourmet, meats, fish, vegetables, salads, dressings, sauces and gravies are freshly prepared daily and are available by the pound.
   Choose from a variety of warm and cold sandwiches and weekly entrees, such as Chicken Francaise or Picatta, Baked Salmon, and Lasagna Bolognaise.  There is always an array of interesting sides, like Twice Baked Potatoes or Spinach Salad. Don’t forget to check out their Soup of the Day.
   Desserts are Angela’s specialty, and her forte. Her envious repertoire includes some of her great grandmother’s recipes for brownies and cookies, cakes and pies. A must try is her Cranberry Pear Pie, with a wonderful ginger cookie topping.
   Angela’s Everyday Gourmet also enjoys catering, both in-house as well as on-site. To accommodate in-house gatherings, there are two beautifully furnished second-story rooms.
   Why open a take-out restaurant in the Back Mountain? Angela will be quick to explain that the location was actually a choice made by her sons. “It was their decision to attend Dallas High School four years ago, so we moved to the Back Mountain. And, as I edge ever closer to an empty nest, my family and I made the decision for me to jump in now and get my feet wet.”
   Angela, who is the resident baker extraordinaire, is joined in the business by family members; and Chef Brian O’Donnell, who specializes in vegetarian cuisine. “Brian is a vegetarian and his wife is a vegan,” she said. “He is the chef and I am the baker – baking is my passion – it’s therapeutic!”
